Accommodation during your Safari

Our traditional tented Safari camp is situated in the central part of the concession which makes access to all areas of the concession possible within a reasonable time (due to the vastness of the area). Each tent is en-suite with hot and cold running water. Each bed is equipped with its own Mosquito net and power is supplied by means of a generator.

We also have three different “fly camps” that we make use of if we need to sleep close to an area that we want to hunt in early the next day. These camps are comfortable, complete with hot showers and Mosquito nets. Sitting under the stars at night after a hot shower and a great meal, listening to the night sounds is the best way to merge with nature. What types of hunting accommodation are available in Mozambique?

There are various types of hunting accommodation available in Mozambique, ranging from luxury lodges to more rustic tented camps. Some hunting outfitters offer mobile camps that can be moved to different hunting areas, while others have permanent camps or lodges located near hunting areas. The types of accommodations available can vary depending on the location of the hunt and the outfitter being used.

What is the average price range for hunting accommodations in Mozambique?

At the higher end of the price range, luxury lodges can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,500 per person per night, depending on the level of luxury and the amenities provided. Tented camps or chalets may be somewhat more affordable, with prices ranging from $300 to $600 per person per night. On the lower end of the price range, more rustic accommodations such as basic camping or hunting huts may be available for around $150 to $250 per person per night. It’s important to keep in mind that these are just general estimates, and prices can vary depending on the outfitter, location, and time of year.

Are there any special considerations for hunting accommodations in Mozambique, such as electricity or water supply?

Yes, there may be some special considerations to keep in mind when it comes to hunting accommodations in Mozambique, particularly in more remote areas where infrastructure may be limited.

For example, some accommodations may not have a reliable source of electricity or may rely on generators that have limited operating hours. It’s important to check with the outfitter or accommodation provider in advance to find out what type of electricity supply is available and whether any restrictions apply.

Water supply may also be limited in some areas, particularly during the dry season. Some accommodations may rely on boreholes or wells for water, and it’s important to find out whether the water is safe for drinking and other uses.

In addition, it’s important to consider the climate when selecting hunting accommodations in Mozambique. Temperatures can be hot and humid, particularly during the summer months, so accommodations with fans or air conditioning may be preferable. It’s also important to take precautions to prevent insect bites and other hazards associated with the local environment.

How close are hunting accommodations typically located to hunting areas in Mozambique?

The distance between hunting accommodations and hunting areas can vary depending on the specific location and type of hunting being pursued in Mozambique. In some cases, hunting accommodations may be located right on the hunting concession, while in other cases they may be a short drive away from the hunting area.

Generally speaking, accommodations for hunting safaris in Mozambique are designed to be located in close proximity to the hunting areas to minimize travel time and maximize time spent in the field. However, the exact distance can depend on a number of factors, such as the terrain, availability of suitable accommodations, and the specific animals being hunted.
